I Will Be Right Back!! I noticed a while back the horses were licking us quite a lot, their salt block was gone so we got them another. Our mare we have never seen her at the salt block, until this day. The gelding seamed rather disgusted so he went off to the round pen. The mare noticed he was not right there so she took off running to see where he was. She slowly walked back after noticing he was in the round pen. Horses are funny to watch!

Two Mule Deer Bucks. I picked this photo for it shows both of them. The one on the right kept taking the other buck and me further into the brush. The one on the left I got some good close ups of him for he was not all that worried about me. Though I was a ways away from Guy and the dogs...... This is about when I stopped and started hiking back to Guy.

Red-Tailed Hawk In Flight. We were driving just be bopping along when this red tailed hawk seen us go by as, I seen it. The hawk tool off and flown with us, so I took this photo and we clocked this hawk at 35 mph for some time!! I really think it was playing with us!
Sandhill Cranes. We seen six of these in this area. They look as if they were eating bugs, grasshoppers maybe?? I did get photo's of a female with a "colt" in tow as well, in another place we were at. You can see the female and her baby here http://www.gather.com/viewImage.action?fileId=3096224746463915Wildlife is seen better, I think, in the wild!
Hereford Bull. A nice example of what a well breed Hereford looks like. I like livestock, always have. I kept my distance from this man.
A nicely bred bull these days cost more then some peoples houses and cars are worth. Some of these bulls are so expensive people can really spend everything they have just to own one. Their whole ranch depends on the livestock, and the bull is very important.
Most places with well bred bulls treat the bulls like kings, because frankly, they are.

Wild Jack Rabbit. Only reason I think I captured this jack rabbit with the camera is because it was at dusk. These are quick, quick, quick! This one froze in it's spot for me to take this. They are kind of cute when you can see them lol!
Sandhill Crane With Colt In Tow. Found in the Malheur National Forest the other day. We seen 7 of these Sandhill cranes, only one had a little yellow colt in tow. Mind you, I did not want to get to close. I did not want to stress the adult out.
This is the first time we have seen this species and not real familiar with them and how they are with young. Some birds if stressed out will take it out on their young.

Mt. Jefferson Sunset. This was taken almost right across the street from the KOA in Jefferson County Oregon. We go past the KOA quite a lot (not only is their the red tail hawk, sometimes eagles and usually always osprey at or near that KOA). So if the travelers / vacationers to our area were paying attention last night, this is what they saw.
Two Nice Sized Bucks, Of The Mule Deer Species. We were on the national grass lands when we encountered these bucks. I went a head to get closer to these two, since it is not rutting season and I did have back up if they did get aggressive. They both took off, not to quickly since I am not as quick.
Family Of Coyotes. We ran into these three coyotes quite a ways out of Post Oregon. We left the Malheur national wilderness and headed to Post where huge farms and ranches are. Guy thinks these are all pups, but they did not let us get real close, if you can imagine!

Some people may know I have been going through some stresses. What started off these stressful situation was my gelding getting sick. When the grass is knee deep, most people feel that is great for the horses. It is, to most horses. Some horses founder. They eat way to much of this nice new grass and they go down.
My gelding did not go "down" thank goodness, but was unable to walk. Everything effects a horses legs/feet. Some conditions are worse than others. This was all my fault for I just was not paying attention. My gelding has not foundered in 3 or more years so I just felt this prosperous, wet spring was going to be like every other, boy was I wrong!!
So for a month or two my gelding had to be "locked up". I first let him into the little pasture for a test, then just yesterday I opened all the gates!! Set him and my mare to roam all the acreage.
Meet my gelding. His mother was one of the first 100 imported into the USA. His father is a well known stud, and from wild horse stock. The breeder, owner of the stud is known as the original horse whisperer. I met up with him at his ranch where I met my gelding mother and was taken around by a four wheeler with the horse whisperer driving. He has forgotten more than most people know about horses! He is also a man in his 90's now and was a pleasure to meet.
I opened up the gates and my gelding was and is very happy about it!
Both horses ran straight for the usually dried out creek bed, though the creek had a little water in it now.
My gelding was very happy to eat the greenery at the ditch,
I had my gelding since he was a yearling stud. Getting him gelded when he started becoming very aggressive to get to the females. As you can see my gelding is not just a ordinary horse, but part work horse and is a big boy. Even if I was not disabled, I am still not sure if I could handle a stud who is bigger and stronger than most run of the mill studs. He would rear up, go through fences. If he could not ram the fence, or panels to get through to the females he would try and go up and over the fence, or gate. Hence getting him gelded for his own good and mine.
They decided to go to the back end of the pasture, and I followed them.
My gelding always pays attention to where I am. He is my horse buddy!
My gelding wondered over to the fence nearest the road,
This is what he was after,
My mare was with him for a time, but this photo essay is about my gelding. She is just so photogenic lol!
AND we all know what is over the fence is always better!
I could not help but take this,
Than we headed over to the other side of the pasture, again!
The mare got involved, again,
I could not help but take this one,
That is a old piece of machinery that now just sits. Horse drawn and must be from the turn of the century??
Always paying attention to where I am,
He was wondering if the mare was coming, but she was visiting with others,
We were walking back to the shade,
I took this one because I could,
I stopped, so my gelding stopped,
Than I started walking again, and so did my gelding,
I got back to the shade and the gate I would leave after giving my gelding a treat. The mare came ripping up as well for her treat.
While getting ready to leave I saw this,
Well that is the end of my tale of my geldings day yesterday. Hope you liked it! See you at my photographs!

Family Of Prairie Falcons. I believe the male is on top, the female is the one on the bottom left hand side, the falcon on the right their young. Only reason I believe this is how these falcons acted.
The falcon on the bottom right hand side I got right up and close too and it appeared young.

Prairie Falcon. We were up and out this morning. I captured a whole family of these, but wanted to show this photograph.
This one was pretty quiet, even when I went up to the tree it was in, however the other two were screaming at me. So we assume this is their youngster??http://www.mrsroadrunner.com/
Hot Air Balloon In The High Desert. Several hot air balloons were going up in farms here and there. Not real sure what was going on, but I got a few photographs of a couple of the hot air balloons. One could not help but see them.

Sparkling Clear Water Of Oregon. Taken last weekend in the Ochoco Mountains. As some people have heard, we went to a spot for me to take photographs of some more water, but someone was shooting a gun and we do not need to be hurt by stray bullets. A accident can hurt.....
Pair Of Golden Eagles. I was looking out at the views and could not miss this pair of eagles doing the same. Perched high up in the Ochoco Mountains of Oregon. These eagles were not only resting, but hunting. We came upon a large flock of sheep on the other side of the road we were on. So no doubt they were hunting not only sheep, but the critters the sheep were scaring.I just love the wildlife here in Oregon!!
Mule Deer Bucks. Found these guys up in the Ochoco Mountains yesterday on our outing. We both were very tickled to see these two!! Look at the development of those antlers! So far these are the biggest bucks we have seen of all of our outings in Oregon!
I feel fortunate I caught them with my camera!
